Other Reasons Why It Looks Blurry in the Designer Will My Yearbook Print Clearly? How to Double Check Quality Tip

If your People Pages look blurry or pixelated while editing in the designer, don’t worry — this is normal. The designer intentionally displays lower resolution previews to help pages load faster and keep the workspace running smoothly.

This does not affect your final print quality.

Other Reasons Why It Looks Blurry in the Designer

  • The editor shows a compressed preview of portraits, so if a picture is being shrunk to a very small size, it may look grainy.
  • This compression helps the page load quickly, especially when there are many photos.
  • The original high resolution files remain unchanged and are used for printing.

Will My Yearbook Print Clearly?

  • Yes. All People Page portraits print using the full resolution images that were uploaded, even if they appear soft or slightly blurry while you're working on them.
  • Your printed book will be sharp and clear as long as:
  • The uploaded photos are high resolution
  • The images are not stretched beyond their original size

How to Double Check Quality

  • For a more accurate preview:
  • Use Preview Mode — this displays a sharper version of your layout
  • Zoom to 100 percent to view images closer to print size
  • Make sure any portrait that looks blurry when zoomed in was uploaded in good resolution

Tip

Blurry previews do not mean blurry prints. If you ever have concerns, you can also request a proof book for review before final approval.
