Using your Photos in the Designer
Table of Contents
You can insert an image onto your yearbook page in a variety of ways, such as using our CLICK-TO-CLICK feature, or using your photos as a background! This article will also explain how to refresh your photo categories, upload photos from the EDONext designer, insert a drop photo box as a placeholder, and how to filter your images.
How to Insert Individual Images
From the left toolbar, click on the Images button.

Select a category to view the images uploaded in that category.

Select an image that you would like to use by simply clicking on the photo. (Photos will be highlighted in green once selected.)

Click anywhere on the page you wish to insert the photo. The photo will generate on` the page based on the file size of the photo. (Note: If you have drop photo boxes on your page, you can drop the photo into it by selecting the photo and then clicking inside the drop photo box.)

Inserting an Image as a Background
From the left toolbar, under the section called Insert Items, click on the Photo button.

Select a category to view the uploaded images. Select an image that you would like to use as a background by simply clicking on the photo. (Photos will highlight in green once selected.)
Click the blue Set as Background button from the left toolbar above your photo selection, then choose Left Page, Right Page, or both pages to apply the image to your background layer.

*Please note: If you choose an image with a low DPI, your background might print out blurry. To check the DPI of the image, click here (publish the preflight page first) to learn about our pre-flight warnings and low-resolution images.
Uploading Images While in the Page Designer

Uploading photos from within the page designer is very simple. When you are on a page, from the left toolbar, under the section called Insert Items, click on the Photo button.

Select the blue button at the top of this menu that says Upload Photos.
Select a category. (Note: You can create a new photo category if needed.)

Browse for your files by clicking the Browse button and select your images, or simply drag the images into the Upload Photos box. Photos will begin to upload when you click the green Upload button.

It is important to keep track of the photos that you have already placed on your pages so that you don’t use the same photo on more than one page. In our photo menu, if you have used a photo in your yearbook, it will have a blue banner on the bottom edge of an image preview that reads “Used on page #”.
How to Insert Drop Photo Boxes
This is helpful if you would like to design a page but do not have the photo content for the page yet. From the left toolbar, select Elements. Then select the Shapes button.

You can then choose various drop photo box shapes.

Filtering Your Photos
You can search through your photos in the designer using our filtering system. From the Images tab, select advanced settings to edit the search filters.

File/Person: Search for a photo by the file name. If you click the drop-down arrow next to File, you can search by a person’s name. (Note: People names are generated by an uploaded student index. If you have not uploaded an index, then you will not be able to search by name.)

Tag: Search by the tagged students in your yearbook.

Select Apply Filter to filter out your photo results, and Clear Filters to go back to the default filters.
